What annoys Jews more? JWs claiming HaShem is Jehovah & the Tanakh says so OR Christians calling Jesus Messiah?

Honestly?

I don’t think we get annoyed by those two things, because we respect that Christians hold those beliefs.

The one issue that DOES infuriate us is when some Christian evangelists go round posing as ‘messianic jews’.

99% of Messianics were *never* Jews to start with!

Messianics are ***literally*** not Jewish.
Just as Hindus are literally not Jewish.
Just as Catholics are literally not Jewish.

And a Jew who becomes a Christian = a Christian

There is no ‘messianic’ group in Judaism.

Every single Jewish movement – worldwide – has publicly condemned the Messianics. As have many Christian movements! Even Billy Graham has openly condemned their deceit in pretending to be ‘jews’ when they are not.

This issue aside, we don’t have any problem with our Christian friends 🙂

(though yes, of course it can get a tad irritating when ***some*** Christians tell us that we have ‘misunderstood’ our own scriptures…..!)

Why is it acceptable to ridicule Christianity, but it’s “disrespectful” and “antisemitic” to ridicule the Jews and /or Judaism?

Who said it’s OK to ridicule Christianity?

I’m Jewish. I may not share Christian beliefs but I would NEVER knowingly ridicule them!

Oh, and the reason why decent people refrain from being spiteful towards Jews is because
– they are decent people and aren’t anti semites
– Jews have experienced enough hatred, wouldn’t you agree…?

Why do we call Jesus the ‘son of David’?

I can’thelp thinking that Christianity has rather shot itself in the foot. It states that Jesus had no earthly father.

That means, of course, that Joseph and Jesus were not actually related. And that in turn means: Jesus is not related to King David.

In Judaism, tribal lineage always goes via the father.

So which is it? Either Jesus was the biological son of Joseph, which means he was a descendant of David. Or, if Jesus had no earthly father, he’s not related to David.

Christianity can’t have it both ways….
